  What do I have to do to get a website?
Having a website involves quite a few steps.

• Find a domain name for your website (mydomain.com or mydomain.co.nz ) and register it with a domain name registrar so that nobody else can use it.  If you prefer, 1ForAll.net can register it for you. 
  
  You can register your domain name for one year or for several years. When your domain name expires and you don't renew your domain name, your domain name will be available for other people to use. So, be sure to renew your domain name before it expires. When registering a domain name, you will have to provide the name of the name servers where the domain name registrar can find entry of your website. If you don’t know it yet, leave it at your domain name registrar.
   
• Build your website. If you know some HTML language or are familiar with good software, you probably can design your website yourself. However, building a website is not as easy as writing a letter. • Find a web server to host your website file. Once you have finished your website, you have to put it on the Internet so that your customers can see it. You can do this by having your web site stored on a web server. Running a web server is not a trivial task, and is best left to experts.

• Fortunately, we have the answer, that is to put your website files on one of our shared web servers. Options can range from only $405 per year*. You don't have to worry about how to setup your web server, finding the Internet connection to the server, and hiring an engineer to take care of it. All these tasks will be handled by us.
   
• Upload your website to the server. Once you have a space for your website on a web server, you will need to put your web site files on the server. This can be done by using FTP (File Transfer Protocol) service. there are many good free FTP programs on the Internet so get one for yourself. Use your FTP program to upload your web site files to the server. If you have our SiteBuilder package then none of this applies as everything is automated in the background.
   
• Change the name server for your domain name. At the same time, you will have to change the name server at your domain name registrar (if you haven't done it yet in the first step) to point to the domain name server of your web hosting provider. This will inform the world that now your website can be found on the server you rent from your provider. Once the domain name database is fully propagated throughout the Internet (normally it takes 24-48 hours), everyone in the world should be able to see your website (provided they know your website name)
   
• Get an e-mail addresses. If you are running a business, you must have e-mail addresses so your customers can contact you. Free e-mail address such as hotmail.com or yahoo.com is good for personal use. But if you want to send an e-mail to your customers, you should have an e-mail address which reflects your business and there is nothing better than yourname@yourdomain.com. You should expect to get your e-mail address associated with your domain name (i.e. sales@yourdomain.com) from your web hosting provider. If you don't, find another provider. We provide you with up to 10 email addresses. We can increase this amount if required.
   
• Promote your website. The last thing you have to do is to promote your website. There are billions of websites around the world now. If you don't make your website known to the world, your website will end up with zero visitors (which means zero customer also!) Getting your website listed on the search engine or web directory is a must. The most important search engines and directories are Google, Yahoo and Open Directory. Have your website listed on at least these 3 places and you will be found. Website promoting is very time consuming and it can take you a year to get at least 100 visitors a day to your website. But you have to remember that this is the most important part of having a website. We have put together a Search Engines Overview for you to begin with.   Note that we do not offer web site promotion service. We could not guarantee that Google or any other search engines will list your website on their first page. The simple reason is that we do not own Google and Yahoo. We have no way to force them to list your website at the top of their listing and we don’t believe that any website promotion service provider can do it for you. What site promotion services do is just to submit your website to thousands of FFA (Free-For-All) directories.   While we do not sell website promotion services, we do help all of our clients to get the best ranking they can. We make sure our client’s site is search engine optimized and we submit them to Google, Yahoo and dmoz (open directory). And that should be sufficient if your products/services are what people looking for in your market.
  
   
• Analyse your website traffic. Having your website up and running is very exciting, but that's not the end of it. Your web hosting provider should have some kind of tools to help you monitor your website to see how well your website is performing. For example, you should be able to see how many visitors visit your website daily; where they are from; which pages on your website they view more and stay longer; how the visitors find your website on the Internet, etc. This can be done by tools called website statistic analysis tools. Some web hosting providers provide more sophisticated tools than the others. And that will benefit your business. Running a website without knowing your website statistic is like driving in a foreign country without a map. So, check what kind of information their tools give you.

  What is a URL?
 It stands for "universal resource locator". This is the address typed in the address bar of your browser to view your web page on the Internet. For example, you would type in http://www.1forall.net to access our home page.

  What is a domain name?
A domain name is a specific web site address that you choose and register with a Registrar.
Domain Names can end in co.nz, org.nz, net.nz, .com, net, org, com.au and more.
Our domain name is "1ForAll.net".

  How do I point my Domain to you?
If you have already registered your domain name and want to point your domain name to our server in order to host your website with us, you will have to contact your domain registrar and ask them how to change your domain name's DNS info to 1ForAll.net's DNS as in the following.
